75/365: After Ten Miles

Friday - time for another self portrait.

I plan to run a half marathon in 4 weeks, so I have been training, increasing my mileage each week. Normally, I run my long distance on Saturday, but since Scott is out of town (in Indy at the Big 10 Basketball Tournament), I decided to take a vacation day today and run the allotted distance while the kids were in school. Ten Miles today.

I purchased a water belt last week after I lugged a 16 oz water bottle around during my run - it was warm and my shorts have small pockets. This low profile water bottle holds 12 oz, and I bought a small 4oz bottle that fits in my pockets.

1 hour and 40 minutes later, I arrived back home. It's not pretty, but here's what I look like after running 10 miles.

Yeah, I used my handy Remote Control for both pictures.

68/365 - End of the Work Week

Keeping with the Friday's Self Portrait - I pull into the driveway after my day at the office. The warm weather allows me to drive with the windows down. It's the perfect end of the work week and start of the weekend.

61/365: Friday's Self Portrait

I have been having a bit of photographer's block on Fridays, so for the 2nd Friday in a row, I opted to set up the tripod for a self portrait.

I am bundled up in a robe because the Spring-like weather has turned back to Winter and I was COLD. Tonight's activities included our Ladies Book Club meeting where we sort of discussed John Irving's The 158 Pound Marriage. The consensus of the group - skip it - even with the racy theme (swinging couples in the 70's), the characters were unlikeable and odd.

54/365: Just the Girls Today

Another self portrait. Can you tell it is another gloomy winter day?

Kathleen's back - she and Erica watched the movie "Stardust" in the Master bedroom. At least that where they started out - the DVD player in the bedroom showed a lot of static, so about 30 minutes into the film, they relocated to the Family room. Of course, Kathleen spent the night.

53/365: Playing Violin

A little bit of a self portrait today. I was inspired by pictures of Allyson, whose Project 365 involves taking pictures of herself. Every Day. I don't know how she does it - it was a challenge for me to orchestrate today's picture.

So while I won't be taking daily pictures of "me", I'll try to incorporate more of "me" in the future.

30/365: Violin Practice

I have violin lessons on Tuesdays, and I hate to go into them "cold", so I made sure I practiced this afternoon. I haven't been as consistent with my playing since December, due to holidays and an erratic lesson schedule. Now that I've settled into a regular lesson schedule, I'll find time to play every day.

I started playing in 3rd grade and took a 22 year "sabbatical" starting in college. I did retain my basic skills, but I'm sure my fingers were much faster in 1986. But not a big deal - I still enjoy the process of creating music through my violin again.

13/365 - Haircut

I got a long overdue haircut today. Coco, my stylist, cut over 4 inches off - my last haircut was in March! It may be another 9 months before I get it cut again, so I took my picture. Next time, I'll get a before shot, too.
