17 / 365: Tire Tracks in the Snow

We received 4 inches of snow today, so here are the tire tracks into the garage. I took one picture, then applied different Levels settings.

In PSE, I moved Black slider slightly from left to right. Even this picture shows more of the tracks' detail than what was really visible to my eye, but I think it represents a good balance.

How to make the fresh snow dirty. I moved the Black slider more to the right, close to where the histogram started to climb upwards.

I'm not sure which picture I prefer - the first one is more realistic but the second one is more dramatic.

A macro of this would be really neat. I like the 2nd one. TFS

Great shot! I hear you on that snow and this cold...holy cow! The worst part is it is going on through Friday. At least the snow stopped here!

I really like the second one. The processing really made the details show more.

These are just both really neat. I never thought of pulling back the black to get the prints to come back up. Thanks for the tip! I love the second one.

I like the second one better. I also love your banner photo--great panorama!

I like them both, but perfer the first because I'm a snow "pureist."

I like the 2nd one better because it is a little more dramatic.
